Why give?
State funding covers the basics at Creative Arts Charter School. However, our exceptional arts program relies on your contributions to our two major fundraising initiatives: the Annual Fund and the Spring Benefit. Our fundraising goal of approximately $400,000 enables us to continue offering these amazing programs.
What Does the $400,000 Provide?
Our entire arts program, which is central to our school's value:
- Director of Arts
- Dedicated Visual Arts Specialist
- Dedicated Music Specialist
- Dedicated Dance Specialist
- Dedicated Theater Specialist
- Artists-in-Residence
- Community Partnerships
How is CACS Funded?
Our primary funding source is the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), comprising local property tax and state aid revenue. For the 2023-24 school year, LCFF accounts for approximately 66% of our revenue. About 12% comes from various state and federal programs, and the remaining 22% is from in-house programs, fundraising, donations, and the city of San Francisco.
Since most funding is tied to student attendance, each absence impacts our budget significantly. We aim for a 95% attendance rate, which is crucial for our financial health. Ensuring your child is present every day possible supports CACS.
Fundraising is essential to maintain our unique programs. We aim to raise an additional $400,000 each year. Historically, we've benefited from generous community contributions. Our goal is 100% participation, regardless of contribution size, while also building connections with the arts community, corporations, and other partners to enhance our support base.
