Summer Camp

Summer Camp

Great fun for a reasonable price!
This program is open to all kids, from incoming Kindergarteners who want a taste of school to graduating 8th Graders who desire something fun to do that your parents will say “yes” to.
Depending on enrollment we may add two camps per day, for Grades K-5. When scheduled, Grades 6–9 will have one camp all day.

WEEK 1: JUNE 23 – JUNE 27

Ooey Gooey Science
Grades 1-5
Spend a week creating delicious and disgusting concoctions including “moon muck”, edible play dough, slime and much more. Children will make important discoveries about the properties of matter, while getting messy and experimenting. Credentialed teacher disguises age-appropriate science concepts with good old-fashioned fun.

WEEK 2: JUNE 30 – JULY 3 (closed July 4)

Skyscrapers and Sculptures
Grades 1-5
Campers explore the science of construction by planning and building projects from a variety of materials. Projects will include: model building, designing simple machines and sculpture. Campers will work individually and in groups on both short and longer projects.

WEEK 3: JULY 7 – JULY 11

Afrio Haitian Dance and Culture
Grades 1 - 5
Campers learn about the history, dance, art, music and culture of the people of Haiti. Activities include a daily dance and music component, with instrument making, art, and folklore. Camp culminates with a performance the last day

Art Camp with Kris
Grades 6 – 9
Kris Bhat brings his highly popular art classes to our older students. This more advanced class includes drawing, painting, collage and printmaking, giving students a fun, rewarding, creative way to express themselves.

WEEK 5: JULY 21 – JULY 25

Indoor/Outdoor Art with Jaime
Grades 1-5
Come enjoy Jamie's unique perspective on art. We will take art to the great outdoors to create on-site artworks. Campers will gather materials outdoors and bring them back for indoor creations. Projects include: sculpting with found objects, chalk painting, silk-screening, shadow art and much more.

WEEK 6: JULY 28 - AUGUST 1

Kindergarten Readiness Camp
Incoming Kindergarteners only
Give your incoming kindergartener a head start on his or her first year at Creative Arts. We offer planned activities your youngster will love. These address important skill areas such social, motor skills, number sense and literacy. Most importantly, incoming kindergarteners will have the opportunity to meet new friends that will ease the first day jitters.

Art Camp with Kris
Grades 1- 5
Kris Bhat brings his highly popular art classes to our younger students. This class includes drawing, painting, collage and printmaking, giving students a fun, rewarding, creative way to express themselves. Projects will differ from previous camp.

City Explorers Camp with Maria
Grades 6-9
Campers get to be with their friends doing something they really want to do in a safe, supervised environment. Meanwhile, they are learning greater independence by using public transportation to find their way around the city. Additional $35 fee to cover transportation and admission fees.
